This partnership marks a significant milestone in the world of e-bike technology, showcasing Hyena’s advanced system integration capabilities.
Hyena has always been at the forefront of e-bike system development, emphasizing scalability and integration. Their innovative system allows e-bike drive systems to seamlessly connect and power various electronic bicycle components, including lights, locks, and electronic gear shifting, enhancing safety and customization. All these features are easily managed through dedicated applications, made possible through their third-party bicycle electronics cooperation platform known as ‘HyenaSync.’
This collaboration has now come to fruition with the integration of Hyena’s technology into MicroSHIFT’s latest E-Shifting products, which cover a range of 9-11 speeds. The system integration enables the e-derailleur to draw power directly from the drive system, eliminating the need for additional batteries. Additionally, utilizing CANbus communication, e-shifting data seamlessly interfaces with the system. This allows bicycle manufacturers the flexibility to utilize Hyena’s HMI remote buttons to control gear shifting and display current gear positions, error notifications, and more on specific Hyena HMI screens.
Moreover, this integration empowers users to fine-tune and configure their e-derailleur via Hyena’s rider app. Firmware updates are also accessible when needed, ensuring an enhanced user experience.
Hyena’s support for MicroSHIFT e-shifting systems encompasses units equipped with BP-B250+ batteries and the latest UniDrive 70 mid-drive motors, offering users an array of options to suit their e-bike preferences.
